Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

I received a phone call, with a friendly woman’s voice who at the time I thought was a new acquaintance of mine that I was expecting a call from. She said "Hello, oh, sorry, can you hear me". I believed it was my friend and said "yes, I can" then she started in on talking about how she represented a travel company that was offering free 3 night stays. At that point I ended the call, and remembered hearing of scammers using that technique. I felt it was necessary to report this incidence in case it turns out to be one of those scams.

Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

Caller said they’re from Travel solutions (or some such company) and was calling me about a vacation (to Florida) that I had booked and never used. Even asked me why I didn’t go, emergency or did I just forget? I said I never booked a trip to Florida. He said I had misunderstood him and started to talk again, I cut in, told him "No, goodbye." and hung up on him.

He called back and left a nasty message on my Voice Mail calling me a ‘stupid [censored]’ and that when I try to call and re-book the vacation and I don’t "get no luck" with it that he’s going to do everything in his power to make sure that I won’t be able to and he’s going to send back my ‘refund’ so I won’t get it. But since I was going to be "that way" he’s going to let his ‘garbled’ know that he called my voice mail to let me know about my refund but I hung up in his face and that if I do call their customer service to try and plan the vacation I won’t be able to since he was going to tell them to close out my account. So "thanks for the money you dumb white ***."    **He did not attempt to take money because I never gave him the opportunity.

**I attempted to call the number back from a land line and got the recording that the number was not in service.
