I received a letter (Courtesy Notice) in the mail. It said they were contacting me regarding an account that remains unpaid. It stated it was an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. It said send correspondence other than payment to this collection agency. I attempted to call using the number on the letterhead (no answer). I located 2 more numbers on the computer, after about 2 hours of calling, I got a lady on the phone. I asked her to explain the letter to me as I have not received a bill or any other correspondence with the creditor. The lady stated they don’t know the details they just send out what the client requests, she suggested I call the creditor. I called the creditor and was told I show a zero balance, Paid in Full, with them. The creditor asked the name of the collection agency and then told me they had never heard of this collection agency. She asked for the telephone numbers. I gave her the numbers and have not heard anything since.

Upon returning from a business trip, came home to three letters from Transworld System Inc. Debt Collection. Each letter was sent about a month apart, and the bill inside looks legitimate (Creditor name, Account #, a Client Reference Number, etc.). They said I owed a debt to Blue Shield for $549.44.
I’m super OCD about my bills, and I couldn’t place where this bill had come from, and there was no record of it via the Blue Shield online portal. I reread all the letters and noticed the name on the "who the check should be made to" was different from my normal Blue Shield Billing department, and that the return address of the company was in Ft Washington, PA – but the check should be sent to a PO Box in Lodi California…
Called Blue Shield to see if they had a record of the claim, and they did not. They also don’t use this service as a debt collections agency, as they send notice of all uncollected debts to clients prior to using debt collectors. Went online to research Transworld Systems Inc. Collection Agency, and my story was one of many.
