Type of a scam Other

I posted an ad on local website southeasttexas.com, to sell an item for $25.00. Interested party expressed interest and asked questions that were already listed on ad. Interested party said he would send check or money order (which ever I chose) and after I deposited the check, they would make arrangements to pick up item. I received a check in the mail for $2000.00 issues from HDI Global Insurance Company, 161 North Clark Street, 48th floor, Chicago IL 60601, listed as advance payment. Draft from Bank of America, N.A., 540 Wst Maidson Street, 16 Floor, Chicago, IL, 60661. Douglas Jame insisted I deposit the check (I asked for a money order). I informed him I would not be cashing the check and would destroy it. "why would you do that? Consider the fact that I took my time to get the payment and send out the payment to you." I said, "what is it you thought you were buying." response, "I am buying barn door from you." I said, "not for two thousand dollars!" response, "yea I am very sorry. That is a mistake from my cashier please…I am very sorry. I don’t mind compensating you for that please.", "so would you do that tomorrow morning?" My communication has not discontinued!
