This solicitation is obviously meant to look like a government document in the hopes that it won’t be scrutinized too much and recipients of this “offer” will just pay the $80 without thinking. Even if you did happen to need a Certificate of Existence, you can get one for yourself for $20 on Tennessee’s official website (https://tnbear.tn.gov/Ecommerce/CertOfExistenceInstr.aspx).

My wife and I are going through the process of setting up an Organization. This weekend I received a request form in the mail stating that this was the last step to attain our Certificate of Existence. The seal, wording, and filing fee looked very suspicious, so I called the Secretary of State to confirm it was a scam.
