Type of a scam Online Purchase

This company will pop up on a Goggle Shopping search, giving them the air of a reputable business – don’t buy it! They will advertise a product at a much lower price (ex. Nikon EN-EL14A battery for $18.88) than other legitimate businesses. Once ordered, the customer will receive a call from them stating that their item is backordered (never mind that the website continues and will continue to show it in stock) but, that for an additional fee, they can send you a better item than you ordered (ex. a higher capacity battery). The customer will then be sent a cheap knock off, rather than the name brand item originally ordered. In my case, I requested a new receipt with details of the new item and pricing before I would agree and was told that it would be sent in 10 minutes. Didn’t happen, but the bogus item was still sent and my card charged for the higher amount. On the ScamPulse.com site, as well as at www.resellerratings.com, there are many complaints regarding this same scam, showing that it is not a one-off incident but rather their normal "business" practice that has been going on for quite a while. As for the complaints filed on the BBB, this shady outfit will respond by saying that the victim was taken in by "another" Photoland, not them. There is only one online ThePhotoland and they are it. Apparently the NY ScamPulse.com is either unable or unwilling to put a stop to it.
