Type of a scam Debt Collections
Received a voicemail saying this is an arbitration company and there is money owed. They provided a call back number and case number. The original call came from a local number. Called the 866 number back and was speaking to a woman who was saying there was an online loan taken in 2010 for $500. She proceeded to say the loan was now at $590 with the interest. When I started asking questions about the company she immediately hung up. I had another person call back and was speaking to the same lady. She went on to say she couldn’t provide any paperwork or information from the original loan company. The lady, getting irritated, said we could settle now and pay the $590 or end up in court paying $3000. When she was questioned more by us she advised to get a good lawyer and hung up.
