I saw something about being a secret shopper for Walmart, and other stores, and it looked legit but I still wasn’t sure. I decided to follow through as long as I didn’t have to divulge sensitive info. I was directed to a short survey. Then was told my application would be reviewed, if selected I would get a check with instructions. I did receive a check for $3,575.98 with a letter. "Enclosed with this letter are the funds that you will use executing your first assignment as a secret shopper." I was asked to text the check # and date to a phone # in the letter, supposedly so the check can be verified and authorized. The letter described what to evaluate…etc. Then there was direction to email the supervisor (James Baragar) upon receipt of the package (i.e. letter and check), and also email him a report "describing my shopping experience as it relates to the above bullet points" I never did present the check to my bank, I did not lose anything but want to help alert others about this.
