I contacted Grout & Tile Experts of NYC in early June 2017 after seeing a truck of theirs parked in the neighborhood. Frank Quinn responded and scheduled en estimate visit to my apartment in Brooklyn for June 10th in the morning. He arrived and looked at the scope of work, and quoted me $800, with a $400 deposit due that day. He indicated the scope and deposit receipt on the estimate form (attached), and scheduled the work for 6/27/2017. He cashed the check the same day (see attached), and it posted to my account the next business day. Of note, a friend was present to witness the entire verbal exchange on the estimate day, in addition to the written contract.
He canceled for 6/27, and then rescheduled/canceled again for various unsubstantiated reasons on 6/30, 7/7 and 7/10. He reached out to me via text, apologetic, and confirmed for 7/28. He was a no-show on 7/28 and has not responded to texts or calls demanding a return of my $400 deposit.
