Type of a scam Tech Support

On March 9,2016 I was using my computer when a message popped up on the screen. This was a visual and an oral message stating that there was an immediate threat to my computer. I was warned that my computer was about to be infected with malware and that would cause significant damage to my computer.

The scammer asked for remote access to my computer in order to trouble shoot and fix the related issues,.

The scammers alleged that they were from Techno Shield PC. The cost for the repairs was $299.99 which I paid with a credit card. I then allowed the scammers access to my computer,

The scammers then used the opportunity to infect system with malware.

I am a 75 year old woman and I rely on my computer daily. This was a frightening experience and gave me some sleepless nights.

Type of a scam Credit Cards

On January 18, 2016, at around 3pm, A company by the name of Techno Shield Pc called my house number claiming my home computer had been compromised. They claimed that they were part of a third party security program that comes preinstalled into all windows devices and were certified Microsoft engineers. They proceeded to instruct me to download a program called showmypc, for they then took control of my computer and added a software that they claimed would clean the pc. They chargers me $99.99 and took my name, address, phone number, zip code and last 4 digits of social security. They the said they would call back on January 19, 2016 at 5:30 for a final checkup on the pic. I have yet to receive any call. While having control of the pc, they signed the name of the credit card holder through this program that I will attach below.
