Type of a scam Tech Support

This "company" hacked my girlfriend’s computer, then sent her an instant message telling her to contact them (she thought these people were here to help the hacking situation). They then convinced her to call them via a message on her computer, in which they stated that they work with Apple to help fix computer security and hacking. They then convinced her to allow them to continue hacking her computer, while she thought they were helping her. They made a few changes on the computer and then convinced her to pay the $100, in which they elicited her credit card number from her.

After she spoke to me about what happened, I was skeptical. I told her to call Apple to see if Apple has any ties with this company. She spoke with an Apple representative and they confirmed that she was scammed and that Apple has no affiliation with this company.
