Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Was contacted using information from LinkedIn about a survey as a secret shopper. Sent a "cashiers check" in the amount of $2900 and asked to deposit this check and purchase $2500 in google play cards. Told that the payment of this service would be the remaining $400. I contacted the credit union that was labeled on the check to verify legitimacy of the document and was told the check number along with routing number on the check were not valid. Please beware of this scam and always protect yourself by verifying all information before being sucked into something of this nature.
