Type of a scam Tech Support
A man with an Indian accent called me saying that he was calling about my computer that was running on Microsoft Windows and mentioned an IP address, which sounded familiar, but I didn’t catch the number he said to me. When I told him I didn’t have a Windows machine, he asked if I had a MacBook and I said yes. He then said that my network was compromised and was vulnerable to hackers. He then tried to direct me to get on my computer and when I said no, he started talking faster, getting defensive and insisting. When I asked what company he worked for, he said it was called "Support for All" and said his name was Nick Jan. The number he called me from is based in Grand Haven, Michigan and is 616-850-2326, but when I tried to call the number back a recording came on saying it was disconnected.
