My cousin called and said she had her student loan forgiven and that she checked it out by the website they sent. She told me to call *** *** at 1-786-627-4904 and he could help with me get my student loan forgiven by midnight because the program will end. So I called him he was very nice, I asked who he was and he said he was with the Department of Education with the student loan forgiveness program and that the government was closing it out by midnight on August 15th 2019. He asked for my email address, SSN, DOB to look up my student loans, I told him I was unemployed and what kind of loans I have. He the said I qualified and out of the $48,456.00 I owed I only had to pay back $995.00 of it. And I could do this over a 7 month period at S147.14 a month. I gave him my card information and set up the payment plan. He said I would get and email with papers to sign showing I was approved for the forgiveness. I never got an email, I did get a text. I hung up and call the US Department of Education and they told me it was a scam. To late, I closed my accounts and wrote letters to all 3 credit Bureaus about a possible Idneity Theft in the future under my SSN.
