I called to make my student loans good after making a cross country move they defaulted… when calling the federal student loan people they gave me a number that had my loans in collections. When calling that number I was told they had my loans and they couldbhelp menwirh the forgiveness program andnit will take my loans out of collections out of default and what I would need to do was make 6 large monthly payments on time and then 20.00 a month for 10 years on time and my loans will be forgiven. I was also told my loans would be consolidated and I will have only two loans. I have received two pieces of mail monthly stating I had to pay 0.00 I contacted this agency why was doing my program and she said it was because my family size and monthly income I only had to pay 0.00 until my income was higher or my family size was smaller. So I kept on looking at the two pieces of mail making sure it says 0.00. When I filed my taxes this year I was told my taxes were taken to offset a debt. This is when I discovered that my loans are still in collections and they were never taken care of and I was never enrolled into a program… when trying to contact his person I get a return email notice. Website is non existence anymore. This person also insisted to better help me it was easier and faster to go by txt messages rather than emails. I also received a packet in the mail I had to fill out and send. It was sentnto me FedEx and had a FedEx feature label on it as well.
