A man stating he was calling from Statewide Mediation Services initially contacted me to tell me that they received a claim against me, he said it was claim #48110. He stated that it was regarding a past due installment loan debt. I requested a validation notice and identifying information about Statewide Mediation Services. He refused and stated that he was giving me a chance and that location services would be initiated and charges would be filed against me if I didn’t pay some of the debt during the call and if I didn’t make a payment arrangement. I was afraid, and because I do have unresolved debt that I’ve been trying to make payment arrangements for, I thought maybe he was telling me the truth. I stupidly gave my debit card information and made an initial payment in November 2017. He and two other women have been calling me every morning asking for my next payment and despite my request for a validation notice that they are legally bound to provide, they have not done so. When I asked for it yesterday they put me on hold and never picked up the phone. I can’t even find this company online. Today their voice message states charges will be filed against me and that I should call the company to see what criminal charges they are filing. They are causing me mental health harm and stress. Please report these people if they attack you too.
