Type of a scam Online Purchase

I found a 1949 Chevrolet truck on Autotrader Classic Cars that I was interested in buying. Sent a couple E-mails with no response for 3 weeks. Out of nowhere I get a text and e-mail stating they are glad of my interest in the truck and it is still available. Only now the truck is at a little used car lot in Idaho instead of Maryland as advertised. No big deal, right, since he stated that it was traded on something they had. After I asked numerous questions and wanted a pic of the title, which he sent right away(and it was from Maryland), I asked him to facetime me with the truck. He made an excuse and I have not heard from him again and he wont answer calls. He represented himself as Shamel Zika(remember that).

So as I had reservation from the start, I decided to dig a little. The website he offers looks legit and they even offer shipping around the world through a company called Trans Atlantic Shipping Services based out of Atlanta. So I call the number to this company and the answering machine is the same voice of the answering machine of Stars Auto Sales. Same guy! The shipping service is supposed to be a third party Escrow account to ensure buyers and sellers safety of fraud!

I dug a little deeper and found Stars Auto Sales facebook page. It’s a small little used car lot in Idaho and I called the number on the sign on the building. A man with a similar India accent answers and I tell him what vehicle I am calling about and immediately he goes on a rant of how the other guy has been using his business and name to fraud people. I felt bad for this guy as he told me about a man from Florida that showed up expecting his vehicle or the $22,500 he paid the scammer. Money long gone!. I hope someone is able to catch this guy. He is good! Even sent me a pic of the title to this vehicle. All contact ended with the scammer when I asked him to Facetime me with the truck.

Please keep in mind that the real man named Shamel Zika seems to be a honest hard working man. In no way do I mean any accusations against the man that actually owns Stars Auto Sales in Boise Idaho. I wish him well and hope that he gets this identity theft resolved.
