I got a phone call from this company asking for us to pay over the phone for an ad for a local high school fall football poster. Because the called seemed fishy, I asked them to send me more information about the ad. I then asked the local football coach and he said he’d never heard of the company and they weren’t doing anything like that for their season. They never sent me more information and instead they started sending us a bill every month. They’re also based in Maryland, while I’m in Vermont. It’s clearly a disgusting scam, do NOT pay them and check with your local schools.

Continue to receive invoices for $189.00 and threatening letters for a supposed Spring Sports Poster we never advertised in. I have continually tried to call with no luck due to the mailbox always full. We did not nor have ever approved or advertised on a Poster of any kind. Do not use this Company!!

Sports Media is in no way connected with our local high school (we investigated, they are absolutely NOT doing advertising) even though they include the High School name on their invoice.

They try to get payment over the phone via credit card, and if they can’t get that they send invoices. For something that you NEVER authorized, and they are NEVER going to provide.

Simply a scam.

We have been receiving a multitude of notices that our business has an outstanding balance of for a "fall sports poster" at Copiague High School. The phone number provided is a dead end, and one of our workers were suspicious of the letter when it failed to regard Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School by it’s full name. After looking into the company, it was discovered that it has been reported as a scam in Nebraska, where the company is located. We urge anyone receiving letters from this company to report it to the ScamPulse.com and warn other local businesses of this issue.

When I took over 84th Street Pub and Grille as the new GM I kept getting these invoices for Sports Media. They said that we were paying for poster ads, but I couldn’t understand why we were paying out so much for so many posters. I attempted to call the number listed, unable to leave a voicemail; that’s weird when you call a business. So I contacted the school and they said that they are in no way affiliated with this company. So I researched them online and it turns out that they already have an F rating. They’ve been scamming a lot of companies and I assume they started to reach out of state after they couldn’t target anyone nearby.

We received a call from someone representing themselves as Sports Media. They claimed to be working with local high schools to put a ad into their upcoming sports programs. We are famliar with the school and area and decided to help by agreeing to a $169.00 ad paid for, via credit card.

I later discovered a payment of $269.00 was charged to the card. We called and emailed to dispute it.

We were never called back . We also discovered the Athletic director had never heard of them . That’s when we did some research and found out this was a scam.

This company has been contacting us stating they are affiliated with the local high school, which they are not. They are falsely advertising that this is for a fall, winter or spring sports roster. They continue to call demanding immediate payment and sending us bogus invoices, marking them past due, even though we have never authorized them to be paid. One invoice said it was Authorized by me directly and I did not ever give them authorization. I’ve tried calling and emailing them asking them to stop and they only seem to be sending more. One person called to talk to our accounting department and started yelling at one of our employees saying our payment was past due and she needed to pay immediately on a credit card. Luckily she did not give out the credit card information. It would be very easy for someone to fall for this scam so I want to make others aware.

We have been receiving letters stating that we had agreed to advertise with Sports Media to benefit our local high school. After attempting numerous calls to them with no return call, we received a letter claiming to be from a collection agency. It used the same phone number though. When we called we were told it was a car dealership and they didn’t know what we were talking about.

A fake invoice arrives stating the name of the local high school to pay for ad on the 2018-2019 Winter Sports Poster. When we called the school administration about the ad we didn’t order, they informed us of the scam. Now the scammer has sent a second invoice for the poster we never agreed on or sent any information to have made.

I received a letter asking to pay a fee for them to advertise for a local school in NY. I found it odd that the agency was in TN and we are in NY. So I called Cornwall Central High School athletic Dept Mike Cromer @ 845-569-0368. Mike said that they did use an agency to advertise for the Athletic Dept but haven’t used them in a few years. So please don’t send any money to them because there is no agreement with any outside agency to advertise at this time. The invoice was for 2018 Fall Sports Poster $189.00. So please let me know if there is anything else you may need from me. Thank you for your time.

Our business received a phone call about putting an ad in the local high school’s Fall Sports Poster. When I spoke with the gentleman I let him know that we would not be committing to anything because the owner was not there, gave him the business e-mail and told him to e-mail me about the advertising opportunity and I would present it to the owner once he returned. Never received an e-mail. A month later we started receiving invoices for $189.00. There was an address to send the check to, but no e-mail address, and no website. First of all I never even gave them any artwork for our ad so I knew something was wrong then. I called the local high school to see if I could talk to someone there about the ad but they were out for summer break so I never heard anything back. In all we received 10 invoices for our "ad" in the fall sports poster. Lastly, I received a letter saying that it has come to their attention that we have an outstanding balance and it is of the utmost concern that they have done something to cause us to ignore the past due notices. It then guarantees 100 % customer satisfaction and says to call Mike Bell in Public Relations at 1-888-441-9584. Every time you call the number it rings 4 times and then says the mailbox is full, I called over 50 times in 3 months, different times of the day, no answer ever. This Sports Media company is all in all a 100% scam. It is pitiful that they would use our local high school to scam local small businesses for money.

This group presents as working for the local high school yearbook. They call and solicit "ads" for the yearbook. When we called our local high school they informed us that it was a scam. They have continued to call us and send us mail even though we have identified it as a scam.
