Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
First time making a sell online and came in contact with this lady named "Dara" who was looking to buy my uncle’s Hoverround and wanted to pay with a check. I accepted the payment type……she then asked me to cash the check take the payment out of the check(570 out of 1950.00) and send the rest to an address I assumed was the guy who bought it(her father) so I cashed the check, took my part out and send the rest off. A couple of weeks later I get a call from a company of who I had a bill due through and they said it was returned. I call my bank to see what’s going on come to find out the check was fictitious and sent my account in the negative hundreds(taking the 1950.00 that I didn’t have in my account. Lesson learned never take a check, It’s real pathetic, but clever thieves out in this world. Be careful
