Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

I received a call today from a gentleman describing how I have been pre approved for a loan. He said his company was not a payday loan and if that is what I was looking for he could not assist. He then took my banking information and advised me I just needed to have 10% of the loan amount in disposable income. I could verify that by going and getting a "verification voucher". He advised me to go to any circle K and then call him at his number for further instructions. When I got to the store the attendant had no idea what I was talking about. I felt a little odd, but I called the loan rep back. He then described a process where I would buy STEAM cards up to the full amount of my disposable income and in two hours I would receive the funds back. Red flags started to appear before my eyes. I decided that this sounded very familiar to a recent scam where a person pretended to be an apple rep and advised my icloud account was being hacked and I would need to go buy $900 in itunes cards to purchase a antivirus on my tablet. I did not do either. I told this loan rep that it sounded very odd and I would need him to send me an email including his companies licence information and accreditation. I received an email outlining the loan I had agreed to but the information about the legitimacy of his company was not in there. It took me to a website and nowhere on there was I able to verify it was real. I then researched scams on loans and came across many other that had almost verbatim been told to purchase gift cards and they never received the money back, nor the loan. The loan rep has called many times back, that in itself is not characteristics of companies. IF you are asked to purchase any gift card for verification, it is a scam. The loan companies have a very safe verification process where you sign into your bank online and it transfers a read only copy to them. Needless to say I have transferred any amount of money I had into the account and have to sadly say goodbye to my many tenured checking account due to my stupidity and laziness. I am just glad I got to whiff of this scam before I went ahead and purchased those gift cards
