I received a call this evening from 866-942-1545, the caller stated they were from Southwest Airlines. They stated it wasn’t a sales call, but Southwest wanted to update their customers on a new ticket counter area at McCarran Airport. The caller then ask, "Was I aware there was a ticket counter?" And without thinking, I automatically responded, "Yes." The caller disconnected the call immediately after I said Yes. Southwest stated they do not call people…..

I received a text message stating that this was a boarding pass for Flight #3476. I was not scheduled to fly anywhere. I believe the scammer is phishing for private information. I did not click on the link.

I received a phone call stating that it was Southwest Airlines invinting me to an exclusive grand opening of their new reservations office in Rancho Cordova. If I attended there would be gifts of travel.

Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

I received a phone call on 11-Oct-2017 from 2 women that appeared to have an Indian accent.

They offered 2 free round trip Southwest airline tickets.

First lady: "Hi, you have been selected by Southwest Airlines to attend a conference in Brentwood, Tennessee in order to receive 2 free round trip tickets. Are you married or in a relationship?"

Me: "No"

First Lady: "OK, you still get the tickets anyway. Let me transfer you to my supervisor"

Second Lady: "Hello.." (hangs up)

I tried calling back and it didn’t go through. I don’t normally answer these calls but I am in Nashville on vacation and flew here through Southwest Airlines which made it seem even stranger.

I believe (from my readings on the internet) that they wanted a recording of me saying "Yes" because they probably have a lot of my personal information thanks to *** and their lazy information technology department and can use that information along with me audibly saying "Yes" to purchase certain items.

I hope that *** is held accountable for this to the fullest extent and serves as a lesson for all IT departments. Computers are great tools, but within the blink of an eye, the world’s personal information can be stolen and many organisations have fallen due to simple errors that could have been prevented.
