Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I received a call from someone who said he was calling from Publisher’s Clearing House headquarters. He asked if I had received a letter from them. I said no. He said I had won 2+ million dollars. In order to receive it I had to register for it by going to the nearest Walmart. There I had to ask for a Walmart to Walmart transfer and give them $399.00 to be sent to Erica Grant in Bronx, NY. She supposedly was a merchant banker. He said not to tell them that it was for my winnings because they would charge me double. He wanted me to go to Walmart right away and he would stay on the line with me until the transaction was completed. He wanted to know if my number was a cell phone or land line. I told him it was a land line and he wanted to know if I had a cell phone. I told him no. Once I had made the transaction at Walmart, a truck which was supposed to be not far from my house would bring me the money. He had an accent that I couldn’t place. I did not do as he asked. I was targeted, not scammed.
