Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
Alarm (very loud) went off on personal computer warning us not to shut it down but call service people at 855-578-9469. Phone call answered by person with heavy accent. Lots of other people talking in background,likely a boiler room. It was very difficult to communicate with individual because of heavy accent and loud noise from computer. I mistakenly allowed individual to gain control of my computer. He said I had a number I’d viruses and that people were trying to gain control of my computer. He then offered several "solutions" for around $300 to $600. I suspected a scam and told him I would get back to him.
I suspected this was scam from the start but was caught off guards by loud noise of computer and warning that I needed to do something immediately.
