The owner of this service took the work of all her admins, who’d run a very successful HUGE group running well for free at the expense of her admins – who volunteered and were essentially exploited for their expertise and years of hard work – and she decided to monetize it against their wishes, despite the admins being closer to the audience using it and having done the hard work on the group she’d mostly neglected. As someone who came from the group, I can testify I only saw those admins on their pouring their sweat and hard work into it. One day, we logged on and she (against policy) had monetized being in the group for an outrageous scheme that would make a huge amount of money, fired the admins/moderators who’d helped her build it without warning by removing them from the group, and shut down the functioning group that thousands had been a part of and put hours into every day and relied on for their business.
