Smartbackgroundchecks.com will not let me remove my info. Everything you try, its a dead end. They even get your email while you try to remove info so now they have another piece of info on you. this is a huuuuge scam and Im seeing a class action lawsuit in the future. This needs to STOP. BBB.org has them on the radar, and im not sure how to get my info off but i hope someone takes them on.

This scam provides personal details of people to assist in identity theft. It is suspected this site is actually part of an identity theft scam. This sight did not respond to the Better Business Bureau’s basic questions like where they’re located or who their principal officers are. Smart background Checks has a fraudulent customer service number that is 100% automated NO HUMAN AVAILABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. The website also has a fraudulent REMOVE RECORD tab that doesn’t work; it redirects you to the website Instant Checkmate. In my case Instant Checkmate already removed my information while Smart Background Checks hasn’t.

This website displays private information including personal data (birthday and year, all current and previous addresses, names of the family members, my emails, my phone numbers, relatives and friends) in public view. This information is easily accessed and the company is facilitating identity thefts. I have suffered from identity theft several times due to this kind of company which puts my personal data on display for the criminals and crooks to easily access it. You don’t even have to register or pay any fee to get this highly private data.
Plus, they don’t have a legitimate address. Just a P.O.Box. They don’t have an email address to contact them by. This is a total scam and they are instrumental in perpetrating identity thefts.
Please, review this company and make them cease and desist because their activity is illegal and violates the right of privacy of many people.
I’m also going to contact the Consumer Protection Agency and report this illicit company as well.
