Type of a scam Employment
I received an email last October saying it was from Kroger’s. The e-mail appeared to be a legitimate Kroger’s e-mail address. The email said:
We have empty positions in our team as a secret shopper and we are looking for individuals to apply.

I applied. Someone sent me a cashiers check a few days ago for 2400 dollars from Orión Credit Union in Memphis and also the names of two stores to shop at- not Kroger’s. The check and subsequent emails I’ve received did not give me the name of the organization providing the check. Nor did they give me an address. I called the Credit Union and they verified that the check was not a good one. I did not deposit the check, the scammers are still attempting to contact me to tell me to get the check deposited.
