I found Shauntelly Gonzalez offering certified eyelash extension training on offer up. I had asked her a couple of questions on requirements to take the training since I know that you have to licensed in order to offer the service in Arizona she told me that because I was in school I get a student discount so I thought that was cool she said she’d come to my house and do the training 1 on 1. I paid her 400 for the training and she said in order to have an eyelash kit it was separate of 180. I paid both and she sent me a request for 580 through a cash app I didn’t find it strange to pay up front because most training you will pay upfront but I did think it was weird to pay through a cash app at that point I searched for her name and realized she once worked at a school that was shut down but I couldn’t figure out why it was shut she was under the name Shauny Gonzales. She showed up the day she was to give me the class but she didn’t have a bed or light or anything I would have expected but she seemed nice. She went on to tell me a little bit about eyelashes not anything I couldn’t look up on YouTube myself and gave me the 180 kit I paid for which was in a plastic bag and had 1 tray of lashes, 1 glue, some mascara wands and lip applicators, some glue rings, tweezers straight and curved, some eyepads and some medical tape. She said that the other 2 tray of lashes didn’t come in on time and she would have to send them. Now mind you I can buy a kit for less than 180 and get more and in a nice storage. She didn’t give me glue remover or primer either she said she doesn’t use those things so she didn’t bring them. She showed me how to do the lashes and than told me at the end I would need to do 4 sets of full set lashes and once I was done she would give me my certificate said if I need any help I could contact her through her phone and that she would send me my other lashes in the mail. I sent her 2 sets of pictures and she didn’t respond to me I waited a couple of days and asked her if my lashes had come in yet, she didn’t answer again so I went to her social media and seen she had just posted something new so I started looking her up under her full name and came across some complaints of similar things and found she had owned a school but looked like they were shut down due to fraud. So I messaged her again and explained my frustration with her not returning my texts she claimed she’s been busy and someone killed themselves in her family and said she would send me my lashes. I waited 4 days knowing it shouldn’t take that long to come I finally messaged her and said I know she’s not licensed as an esthican or cosmetologist or an instructor for these when I looked on the az board of cosmetology and that I wanted my money back. She immediately messaged me back ignoring everything I said and said she had the lashes and has been busy but was going to personally come give me my lashes and certificate. I told her the certificate is no good if she is not licensed and she said she didn’t need to be licensed to teach me and said she would come to my house Tuesday. Tuesday came and gone and I asked her if she could just please send me that stuff I paid for so I could be done and I have yet to here from her. I now have to take another class that will give me a legitimate certificate. I have disputed my charges and waiting to hear back. And the az board of cosmetology told me in order for her to teach these things it has to be done at a school.
