Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I got an email from “careerbuilder” sent to my college email. It was a job opportunity to become a secret shopper for stores like CVS, Amazon, and iTunes. I filled out a very quick survey giving them my email, cellphone number, and address. They then proceeded to text me from the number ?+1 (302) 468-6373? about a week later saying I should expect a letter with instructions. I got a text a few days later saying they know I received the letter today and should confirm that I received it. Inside the letter was a check for $1800 from “US Bank” and an instructions seat.
