At 4:03pm today I received a call from someone who wanted to speak to the person who paid our MLGW power and gas bill. I told the lady, who definitely had English as a second language, that I did this. She then told me that there was a disconnect order for our home. I was not very pleasant after that and she hung up on me. Please be aware that the phone number that was displayed on my phone 1-904-544-6549 is in fact only one number off of the MLGW actual listed phone number. The area code number is wrong, MLGW is in the 901 area code NOT 904. The listing for who was calling also showed on my phone as "The State Of Tennessee". I had seen a warning a couple of months ago about this type of scam and was aware that it was a scam. Please do a new warning for those who didn’t get it the first time.

I got a call and the caller ID said MLGW. The number on caller ID was the number you use to report an outage at MLGW, not the billing office. The caller told me the name and address of my business then said that the December 2017 and January 2018 utility bills had not been paid. I asked for a number to call him back so I could verify the payments with my business partner. My partner verified that those bills had been paid.
I called the number and spoke to Brian Caruso. I asked if he was with Entergy and he said no, Entergy was who delivered our supplies. I asked if he was MLGW and he said yes. He asked for the number of my business. I gave it to him. He said he couldn’t find the account without the account number.
I then said that I knew he wasn’t really with MLGW and asked who he was. He said, "Oh, I’m not really MLGW? Fine, just leave it that way" and he hung up.
