Type of a scam Identity Theft
When you google customer service number for yahoo, 800-935-0741 comes up. When you call, they want access to your computer, then tell you that your identity has been hacked and so has your computer etc., they want to transfer you to someone who will charge several hundred dollars to assist with fixing this. Once i realized this was NOT yahoo, even though he continued to claim he was with them, I shut down my computer and ended the call. i was unable to restart my computer at that time as it said I needed a password, which I had never had on my computer since I owned it, I was able to go in reset, and change the passwords, and now have access to my computer, but still am not sure if they still have any kind of access,. i have since spoke with the real yahoo, who assisted me and stated they wouldn’t ask for access to my computer. This business is scamming people daily and need to be shut down. The individual i spoke with was an indian male named "Jerry".
