Sapphire Solution

Total money lost $240

Type of a scam Tech Support

I needed help with my HP printer and was chatting online with who I thought was a representative from HP, turned out to be a company called Sapphire Solutions. They said the reason why my printer was not working was because I had broken drivers and other computer issues.

He offered me a one year protection on my computer and said that a technician could fix it remotely by having access to my computer. The fee was $200. After that my printer worked but when I became suspicious was when I received a call asking me to download teamviewer so that they could access my computer remotely. The man had a heavy accent and I could hear other people talking in the background, doors opening and slamming shut. Did not sound professional at all. So I hung up and they continued to call me back 5 times in a row.

Two weeks later I received a call saying that the company was going out of business and that they didn’t need any personal information. They said in order to get my refund I would need to log onto my computer. I told the man that I was not at home and that threw him off. He was clearly reading from a script.

Then I received this text from a local number. Not what was given to me to call.

This to inform that Sapphire Sol is shutting down, and we are refunding back the payments to our customers kindly call us to schedule payment on 1-301-458-6911
