Called my cell phone and left pre recorded message saying they have been trying to contact me andvmeeded to call immediately, called number back just to see who it was, a foreign guy answered and said it was the irs and I told him they don’t call and he tried arguing with me saying that they do and I told him not to call again!

05/16/2016 Received robo voice mail saying I needed to call to avoid prosecution by IRS for failure to pay taxes. Said this was 2nd attempt to contact me. Not true, this is the only contact I have had. Gave options for me to press numbers to repeat, etc. Ha! No way!!! Gave call back # as (301)223-3006, I deleted the message. I know this scam is running rampant in Memphis so I am reporting it.

received phone call from san Francisco 1-415-363-0173 they left message saying we were under federal investigation our address was being investigated, so we called back the number, it said IRS my husband told him we received phone call and wanted to know what they wanted, he asked my husband his name he said *** *** then he asked for my husbands name, which he wouldn’t give, because we have no problems with our taxes and have not been notified by mail for anything. I would like to know if this is legitimate, we just hung up. I don’t know if he was trying to get money didn’t give them a chance.
