I received a phone call; I had not answered the unrecognized number at least 10 times previously. When I answered the person stated they were from Rx Pharmacy Services and my health and wellness form stated I was in pain and needed a "pain cream or tablet." I filled out no such form. They could not provide me with a supervisor who could tell me where this information originated. They had my full name and telephone number. I am a physician, and this is deplorable. Pain medication is a tremendous issue, and those of us licensed are under constant scrutiny. How could this be allowed to occur?!?!?

Received a call from a woman from RX Pharmacy Services. She claimes that either I or someone in my immediate family filled out a survey to receive a prescripition topical cream for pain in the body. She told me she would need to verify a few things (my primary doctor for one). I immediately asked her who filled out this "survey" requesting this and she told me that she did not have access to this information. I asked her if she was somehow affiliated with my insurance company. She said no. I then told her that it would be a violation of HIPPA for someone other than me to disclose anything about my health history or needs. At this point she was looking to get off the phone but I told her that I needed to get to the bottom of who provided them with this information about me. I explained to her that there must be some type of identity fraud going on because I did not fill out anything for topical cream.
I explained that I wanted to find out where the information for this "survey" comes from and how can we find out who filled it out. She then placed me on hold to speak with her supervisor. When the supervisor got on the phone he told me that they did not have the information for who filled it out and that they are just a service company looking to provide topical cream through their company. I told him that this is the exact opposite of what I was just told. I was just told that they had my information from a survey that either I or my wife filled out and that I needed to verify who my primary care doctor was. I then asked him if he had the name of my primary doctor and he said that they did not have that information. I told him that his company is misleading people and that what they are doing is wrong. He said he would remove me from their call list and not call me again.
