Type of a scam Employment
Contact was done through a Letris, Joanna by email and Google Hangouts. The ‘company’ was seeking help from a Virtual Assistant and requested a resume sent to them. After I was ‘hired’, they said they needed my banking login credentials to set up mobile deposit, so I created an account at a bank I have never used with login credentials I have never used. My ‘orientation’ consisted of 3 essays written over a 3-day period with promise of actual work to follow. This work never came. My next ‘task’ was to give them access to my phone company’s account so they could order me a new phone where I would be able to receive the future tasks they needed me to do. When I refrused, they ceased to contact me. I have since closed the temporary bank account with no loss to my finances or identity.
