Told me I had to talk to an attorney named Linda Allex to claim the money, but they would not give me the attorney’s phone number. I need to pay $195.00 to the government to get the winnings. He also told me that at the end of the year I would have to pay 1 percent of the taxes. Did not do this.

A man by the name of David White contacted me on 9/6/17 and told me that I won 2.5 million because of a lottery app that’s on my phone. I went along with it because I have the actual app on my phone. They told me in order to get the 2.5 million I would need to send them $2000 for a gold seal. I wrote a check because they told me they were going to deliver it to my house. They told me to get a money order or cashier’s check. I sent the check to an address in Florida. I felt like something was fishy so I cancelled the check. The check was never cashed. They still call me 2-3 times a day looking for the $2000. They told me they did receive the check.

I was called by Publishers Clearing House claiming that I won 1.2 million dollars and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I called Publishers Clearing House because it was Saturday I got voicemail that stated if I was called regarding anything about winning money it was a scam. When I was called again regarding my winnings I let them know what I heard in the voicemail and they said they were affiliated with the business, and not actually the business. They wanted me to pay $400 and to send them a money order to them from Walmart. When I said I couldn’t afford that they said they would take $200 now and $200 a week later so that I could get my winnings. When I refused they hung up on me.

Company called saying they were sending me a free watch for my recent subscription. They said I was a finalist to win $25,000. They also wanted to send me three other free subscriptions for a year. They asked if I was familiar with these magazines, I said yes, which sounded like they recorded it. I then said I didn’t want anything from them and hung up. They knew my name when they called but I didn’t provide any address or personal information.

Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I was contacted during class. I received the phone call, and it sounded sketchy. Eventually he convinced me to give $500.00 through Western Union. I still have the receipts. He told me because my bank was closed, tomorrow I would have to wait until he delivered the car and 2.5 million dollars. The next morning he told me I had to go to the bank and deposit $3,000. This made me even more skeptical and I began arguing with him. I couldn’t believe what was going on. Through a lot of arguing he eventually convinced me with a letter that I though was from the IRS and the ScamPulse.com. This was what won me over. I deposited another $990 through Western Union to Jamaica, Jamaica. Throughout the scam he was constantly telling me he is a good man who only wants to support his family through the job he is working. I truly believed he was a good man.
