I have received invoices for a publication and 12 months’ site access from a company called Progressive Business Publications. I did not receive the publication nor any notification of the site access. When i attempted to email, the address given was not valid. When I called the number listed on the business website, it did not connect with anyone.
Today I received a call from International Credit Recovery for the unpaid invoice. I asked the person calling to give me contact information for the originating company and she said it was "too late" as it had already been turned over to their collection agency. She said that she had not contact information or way to contact Progressive Business Publications I tried to explain that I had not received the publication and she asked for the name of the person in my organization who sorts the mail. She subsequently asked to speak to a CFO or CEO. She said that she could reduce the bill to $100.00 but I demurred saying that I was not going to pay for something I had not received. The representative stated that the company was "out" the newsletters sent so I rightfully owe the money.
The representative went on to say that the mail must have been received because there is a tracking code that was scanned in "proving" that I received the newsletters.
