Type of a scam Family/Friend Emergency
Male phone caller sounds tired and worried. I assume it is a friend of mine, therefore giving him a name. He tells me he is on his way to see me but needs minutes for his phone. Tells me to go to Walmart to buy a Straight Talk refill card for his phone and will repay me when he arrives.
One phone call proves what I have sensed, This is not my friend. My friend is on his way to a business meeting in another state.
Apparently, the scam is to get the number from $45. card to refill the caller’s or someone else’s phone.
