Type of a scam Online Purchase

I found a Maltipoo puppy at Recycler.com that I wanted to purchase for my daughter. I filled out the inquiry request and sent it. I received an email back from a Sanchez Starrit. He stated that his he and his wife are private breeders in San Jose and that his wife was pregnant with their unborn baby. He said that since his wife care for the puppies they would have to give up their business. He sent pictures of the puppies via email and said that he wanted to "rehome" the puppies and I would just need to pay for transportation. He asked a series of questions regarding, how many people in your household, do you have experience with pets, how long would the puppy be left alone during the day, who would be the primary caregiver of the puppy, and would you send a picture of the puppy once a month to stay in touch. I answered the series of questions and then he told me that I qualified and would need to send $700 for transportation. My daughter and I were worried about transporting a puppy during covid-19 and asked him how safe it is for the puppy. He stated that the puppy is transported in a crate with a puppy sitter and will fly to the nearest airport in which you live and be delivered to your home. He asked for payment by Zelle or Cash App. I didn’t have either one so I attempted to add the app to my phone and send the money. He gave a user name of Courtney Brown on Zelle: [email protected] I attempted to send the $700, however it wouldn’t send. I then attempted Cash App. He gave me a user name of Christopher, $27vvs. That one wouldn’t send as well. Finally, I asked him if he used Venmo. I was familiar with Venmo. He gave me his user name of @Realality101 and the name Real Phyf appeared. I stated that it was transportation for Elsa. He then asked me to send a screen shot. I sent the screen shot and he said he received the money and would proceed with the transportation arrangements. He said I would be receiving an email from the transportation company. He texted me a couple of hours later and told that the transportation company emailed me and to just follow their directions. I received an email from royaleinternational.com stating that they needed $2520 to transport the puppy. The money is used for life insurance to send the puppy and I would be receiving a refund of $2,500 back once I received the puppy. I then did some research and realized it was a scam. My daughter and I were very upset. I have reported this to the Anaheim police department and to my bank. Please do not trust these people.
