Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Filled out an application for a mystery Shopper. Received 2 prepaid envelopes. 1 check was for $2,983.00, the other was for the same amount. They both were cashier checks. When I noticed the check #’s were the same, something wasn’t right! The instructions say to text CHECKS RECEIVED when you received. Step 2 says to text CHECKS CASHED With your full name. The # it said to text is 940-455-4785. Says you can ONLY CASH checks at ATM deposit & bank deposit. I couldn’t get it cashed. All it said was "something went wrong " so, I went ahead, text info to the 940 number, no response so I sent another saying "Checks are bogus and a fraud!!
