Total money lost $800

Type of a scam Other

We came across a website that was advertising Australian Shepherd Puppies. They touted themselves as having 5 generations of breeders ect. We decided to inquire about "Lisa" (a female Australian Shepherd puppy). They emailed us back and said many things about the puppy you would want to hear like she had papers and had been under the care of a vet ect. Once we decided to purchase the puppy, they asked us to Western Union $800 or us Walmart Pay or Zele. We used Western Union. At that time we set up the time to pick the dog up at the airport. Then when we didn’t hear back from them I started asking again about the pick up. All of this is thru email. No phone conversation throughout the transaction. I then got a strange looking email sent from Frontier Airlines Pet Cargo Animal Transport. As I scrolled down, I saw a persons name that would be accompanying the puppy on the flight. I called his number. He called me back and said he sent another email regarding the shipment. It was saying that the crate was not sufficient for the puppy and that they needed an additional $2,280.00 for another crate to ship. I told them to give my $800 back and that I was giving them no more money. This is a SCAM.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I was looking to purchase an Australian Shepherd and during a Google search came across this alleged breeder in Texas called Precious Australian Shepherd. Made inquiry about a dog on their website and received response back with instructions to give the breeder a summary of my home environment which all legit breeders will ask for. Their website is very well done and convincing. They must have copied all the language and information from another breeder’s website. I requested additional pictures of the puppy which they sent. I then asked for picture of the parents, which they also sent. For some reason, the photos were taken in a house and not outside which is unusal because most pictures of all breeders dogs are taken outside. He also referred to the puppy’s mother as her "Mum", I can tell you that no legitimate breeder refers to the mother a mum, but they will refer to her as the dame, or sire if it’s the father. I recieved a phone call from the breeder but was unavailable to answer at that time. When i returned the call, I got a man with a mid-eastern accent which I had a difficult time understanding. When I told him I was having a difficult time hearing and understanding him, he stated he was in a Walmart and the background noise was too loud. Without saying anything else, he hung up on me. Iater, I recieved a text from him and he stated he wanted to close the sale. I told him through a text message that I wanted to do a background check on his kennel through the AKA or AKC and would he please forward any registeration information that I would need to do this background check. He has never returned my email or text. I called both AKA and AKC and as suspected, there is not record of this breeder. I also check several other sites that list registered breeders and this one was not listed. My caller ID indicated his phone number was a Springtown, TX number. I also looked to see if this breeder was listed on the BBB website, but again no go! These guys are running a scam and hope they will get caught.
