Type of a scam Phishing
Today they called my elderly mother(ill with cancer)and told her that her insurance wasn’t paid. She thought her auto draft from her regular Ins. didn’t go thru and handed me the phone so I could give them a routing and acct #.
After doing so I realized these were the same people who keep calling her and lying about this insurance that she had NEVER had. I asked them to please stop calling we were not interested and do not take the payment. The man was very rude and said he couldn’t stop it now. I asked to speak to a supervisor who proceeded to tell me to SHUT UP or he would take the money!!! After a few choice words and calling me a pig. He hung up on me.
I couldn’t believe it!!!
I actually had to call the bank and stop payment. I was just sure that these were scam artists and after googling, find out that it is a real "company"
I still can hardly believe that this "supervisor"acted like this. When I called back I only got an automated prompt to put our# on the do not call list. I wish I knew who to talk to about this.
These are predatory sales tactics, very deceptive in the information they gave my mother. They actually told her that if she didn’t renew her policy right there on the phone that her car insurance would be cancelled.
When I spoke to him he knew and understood that my mother thought they were her regular auto insurance company. He actually then started telling me that this was a policy my Dad has and my Dad has been dead for 3 years!
I cannot believe that a legitimate company would actually lie and then start calling me names because I didn’t believe them.
This was one of the most harassing and disturbing phone calls that I have ever recieved.
My bank says that we need to close our account and start a new one. What a hassle!!!
Unprofessional and very deceptive. Threatening and belligerent. I will never again trust another salesman over the phone. American auto shield should be ashamed. What a joke they are!
