Got a call from a guy. At first I thought it was an automated call with how he was talking. He was asking for donations (support) for our local police in Boise, Idaho. I asked him for a phone number I could call back. I used the excuse of needing to discuss how much we could donate with my husband because we don’t make a whole lot of money. He didn’t give us one and processed to say they take smaller donations instead. When I didn’t give him any more information, he said to keep them in mind for future donations and hung up.

I received a call from these people in April 2018 and was going to donate $35 but they wanted to send everyone letters to collect the money so they sent me a letter to remit the money later. I never could send the money so they called me in June 2018 and as I was talking to these people I got a bad feeling about them. Not to mention hearing a TV in the background and the man talking sounded like he had emphysema. I told him to call me back on Friday and immediately blocked the number when we got off the phone. Another man called me on Thursday and I told him I would not be able to give the money and he said he would take me off their list. I blocked that number as well. Something tells me they have multiple phone numbers. I saved my money and I hope they do not get money from anyone else!

Received a call from what sounded like a machine recording soliciting charitable donations for the Police Action Fund. Call was made from a South Carolina number in Camden, SC to my South Carolina mobile phone number, despite the fact I have lived out of state for six years.

Live caller from Charlotte Virginia. Claims to be "Police Action Fund" soliciting charitable donations to assist police officers. My call screening app reports this as a fake charity scam. Numerous sites on the internet also report this as a fake charity scam that does not actually support police.

Received call to donate $50 to Police Action Fund. I don’t make donations by phone, asked for them to send in mail. Received letter, attached but when I tried to verify, no EIN with IRS and no charity exists when I tried to verify with other sources.

They make contact stating that they are taking donations to assist police officers. When asked if they could give examples of how the money is being used to assist first responders they could not give any. They then go on to let you know that your donation is not "tax deductible". Once I informed them that I was a police officer myself they quickly hung up the phone and would not answer when I attempted to call the number back several times to speak with someone.

I have been receiving calls to my mobile phone for several years. I always ask to be removed from the list and now remind the caller (always male) that I have repeatedly asked to be removed from their list. They always immediately hang up. I have blocked the number, but they always call from different numbers — I’m located in Massachusetts, and it’s always a Massachusetts number calling.

They stated that donations would police perform new trainings and wouldn’t say much else. I gave my address to see if I would be interested as they said they gave further information in a letter but a quick google search proves that they are not legit.
