The Pink Mobile, which is actually (Total Mobile Solutions of Chicago) located at 3458 W. Lawrence Ave, Chicago, IL 60625 (Albany Park Area) are apparently running some sort of scam by luring people into their store, using Groupon to advertise their business, they offer to replace cracked glass services for Cell Phones/Smart Phones, Tablets/iPad, Computers and Laptops. I took my iPad 4 to Pink Mobile through a Groupon voucher for $39 on January 12. It had a minor crack on the screen that I wanted to get replaced before it got worse. I explained that I just started school and needed my iPad. They told me it would be fixed within 1-2 days and was charged an extra $15 without even taking out the glass yet; adding that it needed a new frame. Since I didn’t have cash on me, they said I could pay when I returned and didn’t provide me with a receipt. I called them to get an update on my device, however, received a text to call them at another number; I called no one answered. On January 15, I showed up hoping it would be repaired. They admitted to messing up the wire while replacing the glass and needed more time to fix it. I kept asking how it happened and wouldn’t receive a direct answer, only that they were fixing it and were annoyed by my asking. At this point, I knew something wasn’t right. I tried to remain calm because there was nothing I could do but wait. I called several times during the weekend to get an update and found myself leaving messages without a response. On January 18, six days later I told my husband to come along since he knew more about electronic devices, and because I didn’t feel like they were being up front with me. When I asked if my iPad was ready they tried charging me extra fees for damages that they had caused and couldn’t fix. My husband continued to argue and questioned them about the repairs, and they were unable to give us any explanations. I refused to pay them anything for destroying my iPad that was working when I took it to them. I immediately called the police to file a report for property damage. As I was speaking to the dispatcher my call was disconnected. I then went to the police station on Lawrence & Pulaski (17th District). What surprised me even more was hearing from the Chicago Police Officers, the amount of times they were dispatched to that same location was over twenty that week for the exact same reason. My husband noticed when we got to the police station that the front panel glass was loose, it wouldn’t turn on, all the screws were missing, they replaced the glass with plastic and the only thing holding my iPad together was glue. I tried to file a police report and was advised by Chicago Police to file a complaint with the ScamPulse.com and file a Civil Law Suit against Pink Mobile at the Small Claims Court at 700 W. Washington Chicago, IL.

I notified Groupon Support of the services we received and advised them to review everyone’s complaints which I failed to look at before I dropped it off at Pink Mobile. I explained to Groupon that everyone trusts the merchants they send us to…and asked why they continued to promote such a corrupt business like this knowing they had many more complaints before me. Groupon said they will investigate this issue and gave me a full refund; they also mentioned that it’s the merchant’s responsibility to pay for the damages done on our property. Although Groupon was very apologetic and provided me with my full refund of $40.00 it didn’t change the fact that I know longer have a working iPad that costed me $1200.00.

Two of the men go by Tony & Asim, I have no idea who the others were. These guys are purposely destroying their customer’s property in order to ask for more money on repairs that they are not doing, and then claim they cannot fix it, and refuse to provide anyone a refund.

I attached all the other victims’ complaints that were posted on Yelp. Hopefully you’re able to do something about this.
