Type of a scam Employment
I received an email from a guy named Mark Benson from Indeeds.com saying the position i applied for had been filled but there was a position open for Personal Assistant to contact Scott Studdan and tell him he referreed me. so i did. Scott sent me and email back saying that it was still available and it pays cash i can do it all on my time etc. from my phone and take my cut off top. So i am like ok, he tells me just verify my address and email so i did. the next thing i know i get am email from his saying i will be getting checks in the mail, i am to take it to my bank, cash it take what i am suppose to and then send the rest to the enclosed address. So i questioned it, asked if it was legal to be doing this. I didn’t hear back until yesterday saying that the first check was delivered to my house and that i am to take it to my bank, cash it. take $200 off top and then go get a money gram and send to the rest to a address in the Philippines. I am…OH NO! so i didn’t even open the envelope i just whited out my information on it and wrote RETURN TO SENDER and put it right back in the mail and took a pic of it. I sent this guy a email letting him know and he said that he will have to take legal matters against me and i will be hearing from his lawyer. SO i told him the same thing and told him my lawyer who is also FBI Agent and that he didn’t know who he was dealing with. So he send me another email back that says i will be spending Christmas in jail. So i emailed back and great now you want to threaten me. And that was the end. i have all emails, copy of the envelope, names and email addresses. I know its a scam so they can bounce the check off my account. But i am just a little scared they will do something to my kids that i have at my house or any of my family. Please let me know what i can do?
