Type of a scam Tech Support
Customer called and stated that there were some serious issues with my computer. When I stated that I don’t use my desktop computer at home, he stated that at least 4 times in the last 3 days people have tried to access my computer to steal my information and that this is coming across to them at microsoft tech support. He had a very strong accent and there was much noise in the background of others speaking. I tried to get rid of him and he just kept pushing and pushing that i don’t understand how dangerous this is. I finally got rid of him, but only because he stated he was going to call me at home tonight at 7 p.m.
I am 99% sure this is a scam, but wanted to report it and see. When I said, let me guess, you are going to need some money, he stated that no money would be needed and they just wanted to help me. He then said if I wanted to protect for the future, there may be some things I can purchase at that time.
