Total money lost $500

Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

I originally found this ‘company’ through Expedia. I booked a room for Boston more than a year in advance and paid a $*** deposit. When the time came to check into the room I was told the room had been trashed by the previous occupant, was no longer available and no other accommodations were offered. I was assured I would be given a full refund for the deposit that was paid.

Through countless phone calls and emails I have tried to recover my money. I was told the money could only be refunded to the card that was used for the booking (that card had to be cancelled due to another company’s data breach). I was told because the company was going paperless, a check couldn’t be issued. I was told, eventually, the money could be put on another card. And then that couldn’t happen for some unknown reason. I was told a wire transfer could happen. After supplying the required information, the wire transfer never happened. I tried to get Expedia’s assistance in reclaiming my deposit, but Expedia got no where.
