I recieved an email from my college email talking about a mystery shopper. I filled it out. Then I recieved email and text messages from this guy named Dave Ewers then I recieved mail from it. It was asking about going to this apple store and whatever. I searched it out and used my own viewpoint and I realized this isn’t real. It doesn’t work, its false. Also, theres a bunch of different address, the false check states Hughes, polarbay analytics on the letter and George William’s who mailed it. It doesnt add up nor does it make sense, dont follow through with this. It’s most likely just a scam.

The scammer got my phone number some type of way, and sent me a text asking if I would be interested in doing Mystery shopping. They asked for my address so an information packet could be sent to me. I text back my address and about a week later received a priority mail envelope with a $2500 check inside and a survey letter telling me to deposit the check in my bank. If I completed this within 48 hrs, then I would receive a $200 bonus. The letter instructed me to text the number on the bottom of the letter once I got to the post office parking lot..buy 2 money orders from the USPS for $1000 each and 10 books of stamps…and wait to be contacted with instructions on how to fill out my survey paperwork and mail off the moneys orders and stamps. I knew this sounded like a scam, so I did some research online and found out it is a scam. I ripped up the check.

They sent a cashiers check so we could buy two gift cards from an

Apple store. Must do this within 2-3 days to get a bonus. Send pictures of receipt and cards to them. Text them as soon as money is received and purchase made.

This came as a secret shopper job offer to my student email so it was actually believable. It came from a Tori Patterson asking me to fill out the short application with my phone number. I then received a text message from David Bodin asking for my physical address so they could mail me the shopping checks to deposit into my checking. That’s when I decided to check them out. Unfortunately I did verify my address, phone number and personal email address before checking them out on here. I’m now going to block them on everything and contact my college regarding this issue.
