I received an email telling me that Pathelis Management’s HR Manager, Bendict ***, had viewed my resume on Ziprecruiter Jobs. He gave me the details of the job (Assistant Office Manager) and told me that they were opening an office in the downtown area. They asked if I was interested and if I was, I should respond via email. I was asked and supplied my cell phone number. A couple of days later, Mr. *** called me and only asked me two questions – when I would be available to start and if I were going to open a business, what would it be? I told him that I would be available upon request and that I had previously considered opening a bakery. He told me that he had two other applicants to interview and he would be in touch with me in a short time. Two days later I received an email from Joseph *** of Pathelis Management. He told me that I had been selected for the job and that they would be opening the office in two weeks. They said that on October 1st, the opening day for the satellite office, I would receive information on my training and orientation. This seems a little out of the normal hiring process, but I am not sure how things are handled in Canada.

Reached out via email for a job offer and asked my phone number. I gave this to them, and they called for a phone interview in which they asked three questions and for two references. My references were not reached out to, and I was offered the job after I sent them my personal info (Full legal name, address, etc) address was needed so they can send a check for office supplies and a laptop.
I’m assuming if I gave them this info they would have sent the check and asked for a returned amount back.
