They called my elderly grandmother claiming they could send her a free knee brace and she unfortunately gave them her Medicare card number. Now we’re terrified because they have all of her personal information. We don’t know what to do to fix this. They sent her a card in the mail and then made contact with her via telephone. My grandmother is 84 years old. They claimed to be located in South Carolina but when I searched the phone number, it’s located in a country that I can not even pronounce.

The ID # on my phone was a very long # and since I have relatives overseas I though perhaps it was one of them so I answered. The caller woke my up early in the a.m.. Caller said she was from The Pain Center or The Pain Clinic. Said she had information that I had back pain and said I had Medicare, right? I answered yes. She asked if I had back pain, I said yes. She said I had been selected to receive a special back brace. She asked if I could hear her, I said yes. She again mentioned that I had been selected to receive a special back brace. At that point I said I declined and I hung up. I believe this was a scam phone call.

I was contacted by a company that offered me a free knee and knee brace for pain. All I had to do is give them my medicare information. When I told them I wanted to call my doctor first they told me not to that they could handle everything from there
