Need certified copy of my Birth Certificate from the State of WV. I filled out the application online, put $50 on my credit card. After one day, I get an email saying "research has been done", all is fine and attached is an application to file for my birth certificate. Again? I just did that. The application that was attached to their email was for VA NOT **. That’s when I realized I had been scammed.
There are many such scammers on line – just type in "birth certificate", "vital records" or the like and you will see. It takes work to actually find the official WV.gov website.
