Type of a scam Debt Collections
Received a call saying he owed money and had to call this #855-266-4735 right away.
He called #. Hearst (sp?) Stern (sp?) & Associates. Said they were attorneys. Said he owed money and had to pay it today. Said he owed $1700 but they would accept $200 if he paid today. Said it was from an overdraft fee that was 6 years old.
Customer said he wanted something in writing. He was faxed a document from N&S Partners, 200 N. Euclid St., LaHabra, CA, 562-383-9196.
Fax said he owed the money and that he had to pay it today. They wanted SS# and bank info.
Caller felt this was not legit because they already had personal info on him like the fact he had recently bought a car as well as payment history, etc.
Caller responded to them that he couldn’t find any info on them and wanted more info.
He hasn’t heard back from them since.
